Steenbergs Organic Yerba Maté is a rich and robust alternative to traditional tea, naturally containing about the same caffeine as black tea, that's really popular across South America. So, it's an alternative to English Breakfast Tea.
It has a slightly bitter, smooth and woody taste.
Steenbergs Organic Yerba Maté comes from the dried, roasted leaves of the yerba maté plant , a type of holly Ilex paraguayensis.
Tea Brewing:
Boil freshly drawn water, then pour on the organic Maté tea leaves.
For a mug: Put 1 teaspoon per cup and steep for about 5 minutes.
For a pot: Put 1 teaspoon per cup; steep for about 5 minutes.
Tasting Notes: Slightly bitter, smooth and woody, with a smokiness from the roasting.
