About
Steenbergs Organic Christmas Chai Spices is a variation on Steenbergs' classic spice mixture for making a chai drink. It's a mainstay for a Steenbergs festive season.
This spice mix brings together the sweet flavours of cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla, with the warmth of ginger, and the holiday season flavours of orange peel and cloves.
Preparing Christmas chai from scratch is easy: Put half a teaspoon of Christmas Chai Spices, a few teaspoons of black tea and a couple of teaspoons of sugar into a pan. Then add a mugful of liquid (50:50 of water: milk) and bring to the boil, simmer for around 5 minutes, then strain into a mug and enjoy.
Take it to another level with Mocha Chai: Put 2 tablespoons of black tea into pan, pour over 1.5 cups of boiling water and leave to brew for 5 minutes. Add half a cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of cocoa and 1 teaspoon of Christmas Chai spices and simmer for 3 minutes. Delicious.
